Simplex Pushbutton Lock Repair in Phoenix, AZ
Mechanical pushbutton locks, repaired at your gate or door
Simplex pushbutton locks are everywhere in the Valley: HOA pedestrian gates, pool gates, apartment side entrances, church and office back doors, storage rooms. They need no batteries and no wiring, which is why so many of them have been in service for decades. But the sun, dust and twenty years of pressing the same buttons take a toll. One day a button sticks, a button goes missing, the code stops working, or the knob spins and nothing happens.
Most of these locks don’t need to be replaced. We take the lock off, open the case, and rebuild it: worn parts, missing buttons, a jammed combination chamber. Then it goes back on the same gate with the same mounting holes, and we test the code with you before we leave.
What we fix
- Code doesn’t work — the combination chamber is worn or out of sync. We rebuild or reset it.
- Button missing or stuck — a common failure on outdoor gates. We replace the button and check the ones next to it.
- Knob turns but the gate doesn’t open — a broken link or latch inside the case, or a strike that has drifted on the gate.
- Lock is loose on the gate — stripped mounting hardware; we re-secure it.
- Nobody remembers the code — we open the lock and set a new combination.
Change the code
Every time a tenant moves out, an employee leaves or a vendor stops coming, the code should change. We change Simplex combinations on site, and we show you how it’s done so you can do it yourself next time. If the lock has a key override, we can rekey that cylinder too.
Repair or replace?
We tell you on the phone what we’d expect, and at the gate what we actually find. If the case is cracked or the lock has been forced, a new lock is the better money. Otherwise a rebuild keeps the same lock, the same holes in the gate and the same look. We carry parts for the common 5-button models.
The price is agreed before any work starts. Cash or card (card payments carry a 4% fee). Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 6pm.
More for your property: commercial locksmith, keypad and smart lock installation, rekeying and door hardware.
