A commercial quote starts with a few facts about your doors. Send us how many doors there are, what is on each one, and whether you have a control key, and we call you back during business hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 6pm, with a price or a time to come and look.

Simple jobs, such as a rekey, a closer adjustment or a lock swap on a standard door, are priced on the phone. Bigger jobs, such as a master key system, access control or work on several doors, get a visit first, and we agree on the price with you before any work starts. This page shows no dollar amounts because the price depends on what is on your doors.

How commercial quoting works

There are two paths, and which one you are on depends on the size of the job and how much we can learn without standing at the door.

Priced on the phoneA rekey of a handful of cylinders, a closer adjustment, a lock or cylinder swap on a standard door. If you can tell us what is on the door, we can usually give you the price in the same call.
We look at the doors firstA master key system, access control, or anything spread over several doors. We come out, look at the hardware, and agree on the price with you before work starts.

The reason is simple. Two doors that look alike from the sidewalk can need very different work. One may have a conventional pinned cylinder and the other an interchangeable core with no control key on site. One storefront lock may be a standard narrow-stile deadlock and the next a hookbolt model with a worn cam. We would rather see it than guess and change the number later.

For very large multi-building or hospital-wide projects, we will tell you plainly whether the job is a fit for one technician. If it is not, we would rather say so on the first call than take your time.

What to send us

You do not need to know part numbers. Photos and a short description are enough for most quotes. The more of this you can include, the faster we can price the job or decide what we need to see in person.

Send this with your request

  • Door count. How many doors need work, and which ones (front entry, back door, suite doors, restrooms, storerooms, gates).
  • Door types. Glass or aluminum storefront, hollow metal, wood, or a gate. Single doors or pairs.
  • Brand and model photos. The lock on the door edge, the faceplate, the face of the cylinder, the closer body, and any label or stamp on an exit device. Our brand identification guide shows what to look for.
  • Current key system. One key for everything, a master key system, interchangeable cores, a restricted keyway, or “we are not sure.”
  • Control key. Whether you have the control key if the doors use interchangeable cores. If you do not, say so.
  • Number of keys needed. How many people need keys, and whether any need access to more than one door.
  • Building hours. When the doors are accessible to us and when they are not.
  • Contact for access. Who will let us in, and a phone number that person answers.
  • This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.

The form has no photo upload, and its message box holds about 350 characters. Email photos or a longer door list to info@desertlocksmithaz.com and put your business name in the subject so we can match it to your request.

What shapes the price

We do not publish a price list for commercial work because these are the things that move the number, and every building is different.

  • How many doors and cylinders. A rekey of four cylinders and a rekey of forty are different jobs, and the second is often worth planning as one visit.
  • The type of lock. Cylindrical levers, mortise locks, storefront deadlocks and exit devices each take different work. See our mortise lock and lever lock function guides if you are choosing between them.
  • The type of cylinder. A conventional pinned cylinder, an interchangeable core and a high-security cylinder with a restricted keyway are not the same amount of work.
  • Whether the keys and the control key are available. Working from a known key is faster than working without one.
  • Whether parts must be ordered. Restricted keyways are usually ordered through the manufacturer, which adds lead time. We tell you up front when a part has to be ordered.
  • Access to the doors. Doors we can only reach after closing, or that need a building contact to open, change how we plan the visit.

Photos that help most

A phone camera is enough. Take each photo straight on, in good light, and name or number the file so it matches the door.

  • The whole door, so we can see whether it is glass, aluminum, hollow metal or wood, and whether it is a single door or a pair.
  • The door edge where the latch and bolt come out, including the faceplate.
  • The face of each cylinder, any lettering on it, and the keyway opening.
  • The closer body and arm, if there is one.
  • The exit device, and any label on its case or end cap.
  • A key, if you have one. The stamping on the bow often helps, and we only need the picture.

Quote process, step by step

  1. You send the detailsFill in the form above with the door count and key information, and email photos of the doors to info@desertlocksmithaz.com. If you would rather talk, call (602) 301-5243 during business hours.
  2. We call you backWe call during business hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 6pm. You reach the owner, the same person who does the work.
  3. Phone price or a visitFor a simple job we give you the price on the phone. For a larger job we set a time to look at the doors.
  4. We look at the doorsWe check each door, identify the hardware, and test how it latches and closes. Hardware that is worn or misaligned often explains a problem that looked like a lock failure.
  5. We agree on the priceYou get the price before any work starts, and you decide whether to go ahead.
  6. We schedule around your buildingWe plan the work around the hours your doors are accessible and who needs to let us in.
  7. We do the work and test every doorEach lock, closer or device is tested before we leave.

What happens after you submit

Your request goes straight to the owner. We read it, look at any photos you emailed, and call the contact you gave us during business hours. If anything is missing, such as a photo of a lock edge or the number of keys, we ask on that call.

If you send a request outside business hours, we call back when we are next open. The form is for quotes. If you are locked out of your business after hours, call (602) 301-5243 anyway. If we are free, we will come. See commercial lockouts for how that works.

Common requests

Most quotes fall into a few groups. Pick the page that matches your door, then send the details above.

Property managers and multi-door requests

If you manage several doors or several suites, a simple list saves time. Number the doors, add one line for each (for example, “Door 3, suite 210 entry, aluminum door, deadlock plus closer”), and email photos named to match. Tell us which doors are the priority and which can wait. For more on how we work with owners and managers, see property managers and HOAs.

Not sure what to ask for? Our door hardware glossary explains the terms, and the door hardware checklist helps you walk your building and note problems before you call. Back to the commercial locksmith overview.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a commercial locksmith job cost?

It depends on what is on your doors, so we do not post prices. Simple jobs such as a rekey, a closer adjustment or a lock swap are priced on the phone. For bigger jobs we look at the doors first and agree on the price with you before any work starts.

Do I have to be there for the quote?

Not for a phone quote. For a bigger job we need to look at the doors, so someone must let us in. Give us a contact who can open the building and a phone number that person answers. Photos you send ahead of time often shorten the visit.

When will you call me back?

We call back during business hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 6pm. A request sent after hours or on a weekend waits until we are next open. If you are locked out of a business and cannot wait, call us anyway. If we are free, we will come.

What if I do not know the brand or model of my locks?

That is common, and photos solve most of it. Send the edge of the door with the lock faceplate, the face of the cylinder, the closer body, and any label on an exit device. Tell us about any markings you can read. We identify the hardware from there.

What if I do not have the control key for our interchangeable cores?

Tell us on the form. A lock with interchangeable cores and no control key is quoted separately once we know what is on the door, because the way in depends on the core format and how the system was set up. Do not guess at it or force the core.

Can you quote several suites, buildings or locations?

Yes, send a numbered list of doors with photos and we will price it. We are one technician, so for very large multi-building or hospital-wide projects we will tell you plainly whether the job is a fit for us before you spend time on it.

How do I pay?

We accept cash or card. We will tell you about any payment terms when we agree on the price. The price is settled with you before work starts, so you know what the job costs before we begin, and you decide whether to go ahead.
